Specifically, it's raising funds for Somos Orlando, which aims to "address the long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual” for victims and families.

Oh, that's a great idea. Mental health often gets overlooked due to other medical expenses being so mind-bogglingly expensive, but counseling adds up and is a definite need.

And it looks like they're building it as part of a wraparound approach -- so grief counseling and emergency assistance and transporation help and help for victims/families who are undocumented:

YESSS. Now that's how it should be done.

My agency has a similar model, but in practice, we do some stuff better than others, and there's gaps where certain services don't seem to exist at all anywhere. I'm sure that will have similar issues because nothing's perfect, but it's definitely the best philosophical approach.
